The Paralympics

The paralympic games start tomorrow, August the 29th to September the 9th. There are winter and summer paralympic games. There are over 4,200 people who are in the paralympics.

Many athletes in the paralympic games may use wheelchairs, have amputation and may even be blind. Most of these rules are the same but the way there played are different. The paralympic games are for athletes that have physical disabilities.

Running In Cross Country

At school we got ready for cross country. When the second bell rang we all went to go line up for cross country, we waited till the Mr. Burt came so we could go. He took us to the reserve then took the boys, but then Mrs. Jarman came and said “It’s the girl’s first not the boys". I was so shocked when I heard that.

We lined up and waited for Mr. Burt said “Go, we sprinted into the mudy field, then went onto the path I was coming third, but then Iron sprinted straight passed me and I stoped then I saw Lizara and Rebekah so I started to run but when it came to, two paths I was nervous so made up my mind and went down.

Lizara and Rebekah caught up to me and I told them to wait. Then we started to run but then I stoped and Lizara went passed me then rabecka went passed me. So I started to run to the finish line and I came sixth, I was really sad. The best part was that I did it any way so I should be proud of myself.

The lost gold medal.

Valerie Adams was happy about the good news, but there was one thing wrong! The gold medal is in Belarus somewhere that no one knows. The people of Belarus are saying that, "Zadzeya is still the champion". But no she’s not because she cheated and took steroids to make you stronger and are very bad for you. Lucky Valerie didn’t cheat, because she wouldnt have got the gold medal. I wish that Valerie Adams was happy.

Valerie Adams

Last week Valerie Adams came second for women's shot put. She was very disappointed, but I think that Valerie was very good and I'm glad that Valerie came second instead of third. At least Valerie got something because if Valerie got nothing I would have cried. 

Nadzeya beat Valerie Adams by 1 meter. When it was finished Valerie went home with her silver medal, she was driving home in her car, in Switzerland till she herd her phone ring. She pulled over and picked up her phone and it was Dave Currie, he said, "Valerie you the gold medal because Nadzeya cheated and took dugs to make her win".   

I was so happy when I heard about it, it was silver  medal that turned into gold. The best part I loved was when Valerie got her gold medal.

Olympic flame

The traditional Olympic flame was burning during the Olympic games were happening. They will light the flame every 4 years for the Olympic games.

In the past the olympic flames represented greek hero's rebirth and death.

In 1963, the first torch relay stared in Berlin, Germany. The torch was lit in the stadium in olympia and got carried around different countries.

The torch is carried by many people that might carry it by walking, running, riding horses and many other transports.

The last person who runs back to the stadium gets to light the big torch. At end of the olympic games the torch gets put out at the end of the closing ceremony.

In another four years there will be a new torch designed for the Olympic Games.

When I grow up.

When I grow I would love to be a netball player! I really want to be a netball player because I want to grow up like maria tutaia and learn better things.

My dream is to one day be a professional netball player.
Maria tutaia inspires me for netball because she has lead
me to a better live.

To get there I need to work hard and study
my hardest.

Bmx cycling.

Anna Mears.

I am writing about a person who is from Australia who does Bmx-cycling and her name is Anna Meares. Her Weight is 72 kg( 159 lbs) and her height is 165cm ( 5’5”). Her age is 28 she ‘s a female and her birth date and place is 21,09,1983 - Blackwater she is even in women’s sprinting team and keirin. When I grow up I wish to be like Anna Mears.
